lost words

I just found this photo I took of Daul back in 2006 when I was interviewing models backstage at London Fashion Week. Sitting behind the racks of rainbow bright Duro Olowu clothes alongside Jourdan Dunn just after she was first discovered. So beautiful.

to frolic in the fountain brings good luck

Ellery is my kind of Gucci. Leather hootch with a speckle of sweet. Pale blue cropped jackets and tiny leather shorts with visable zips. Every season Kym designs at least ten items I need, she designs a perfect cut tailored in a straight line to her own wardrobe and therefore always looks spectacular.

when you’re a star

When You’re A Star is yet another fashion film by Jaime Rubiano & Jason Last. The short based in the Pigalle in Paris, is  famous for its red-light district. Another Perth girl Skye Stracke dances alongside Aminata Niaria dressed head to toe in Emanuel Ungaro AW09. Skye swayed to a feline version of Close To Me for Cacharel [...]

stranded at the drive in

Last night I went to my first drive in ever. Such a beautiful night to pop the trunk and watch the big screen. Half way through the movie the radio in the car died and we literally had to lip read. Dead battery. Stranded at the drive in.

shine and breakthrough

Estelle of One Perfect Morning has just opened her online jewellery store selling her second range of hand made adornments Luna Mare. Top of my Dear Santa list is the Serenitatis triple layer necklace, made from nude coloured leather tubes and 24k gold plated pewter chain. Do-It-Yourself blogs are taking over as the place to sell, [...]

cry baby

Another Sydney model blogger ready to face off against Alexandra Spencer armed with a Nikon D60 is Zanita. I discovered her blog when checking out the 2threads finalists which includes one of my most visited Melbourne blogs One Perfect Morning. Both Alexandra and Zanita are blonde and not shy self portrait models yet Miss Spencer [...]

kiss with a fist

Models are for magazine covers. I generally won’t buy American Vogue because the minute there is a celebrity on the cover I lose interest. Yen is an exception. I loved the old days when Chloe Sevigny, Clemence Poesy and Santogold made it to the cut and paste cover, but my all time fav was when [...]

love want issue 2

LOVEWANT Issue 2 curated by stylist Imogene Barron, photographer Bec Parsons and Bartolemeo Celestino is out now. The first Issue released in April was a quick sell out, and from snap shots on Bec’s blog that show Hannah Holman is standing tall in NY I already want a piece. Another hard hitting Australian to contribute to this paper brown cover is [...]

farewell sweet alice

My greatest friend Alice who I begged to join me in London then I left behind in our beloved east end hood came for a whirl wind summer tour. The Melbourne kids kidnapped her for beach holidays, picnics and gallery opening street beers to convince her London is miserable and wet. We weren’t lying but [...]
