passion victims,

Somewhere gallery.. my new favorite melbourne space, held a photography exhibition showcasing 18 young fashion photographers all featuring interpreted images of the theme Desire all with at least one item of clothing from an Australian fashion label. I went along to celebrate the above image… shot by my friend JoDuck, styled by Jade Leung (seen below), hair Fiona Middleton, make up Portia Peacey, model Amy O at Camerons and George Georgopolous was the stylists assistant.

My friend Polly escorted me to the packed out show. I am not much for the old street style pics but my friends just looked so good…Polly: Topshop crochet singlet, Gorman belt, Ellery studded shorts, bra by…. and handmade boots by Roccos. Jade: Above top, Limedrop shorts and Balenciaga heels.

photographer…..cara stricker

Cara Stricker caught me eye after seeing a Yen editorial… and now I am following her blog. I love it when photographers immediatley add recent work. Here she shows an about turn, same model Annabella from Pricillas but a softer range for Mrs Press. Styling Clare Press and Kevina-Jo Smith, hair and make up Rachel Montgomery. To check out more… Mrs Press.

high in the hills….

High In the Hills….Photography Cara Stricker…Styling Clare Press…Hair Megan Cobb….Art Direction Kevina-Jo Smith…M/U Cassie Sobel…Models Annabella (priscillas) Hermione (chic) and Photography Assistant Morgan Hyslop all for the latest issue of Yen.

Best use and most comfortable modelling of the Romance Was Born lobster dress. If I owned it, there would be my excuse to live at the beach. Annabella is everywhere at the minute…more to come this week… but this is the first I have seen of the hauntingly beautiful Hermione.

I love a two for the price of one editorial. More clothes and the dynamic in this one of a peroxide blonde and a brunette.

nightmare on wall st

More money, more money. Wall Street the sequel comes out later this year with Carey Mulligan, Shia LaBeouf, Charlie Sheen, Michael Douglas and Susan Sarandon and Romance Was Born already have the heavy shoulders and dollar bill necklaces in place. RWB have taken the eighties silhouettes into Working Girl overdrive. Tanja G from Chic turns on the power play.

This season round I want the always iconic printed numbers and all accessories, the watch headband I saw at fashion week is first on the list though.

teen angel…..

Last year I did a shoot with the lovely Cassi Van Den Dungen and just as it was going to be published we were informed that she has just signed an exclusive 24 month contract and our editorial is now dead. A big coup for her….. wish I could reveal with which powerhouse…2 years is massive and will keep her in Australia. So instead of an international viewed by many situation, I have to settle for an un-edited version on my blog….

isabel the new CK?

Rumours are rife that Melbourne actress Isabel Lucas who now resides in LA may be the new face of Calvin Klein. Recently she has been seen out and about walking red carpets and even at the Calvin Klein collection after party dressed head to toe in CK so it may just be a matter of time. Almost wooed by Karl Lagerfeld when she sat front row at his Chanel haute couture show in Paris last year. Just imagine her overly discussed mop of locks slicked back into the androgynous CK campaign look and the whispers seem true.

so posey….

New Zealand publication 1am Magazine. Flynn at Priciallas graces the cover of this new discovery of click to view. Why has it taken me so long….

Inside photographer Milos Mali, stylist Britt Mccamey, hair & makeup artist Anastasia Pappas showcase Australia’s next bout of supermodels starting to emerge for a March editorial “rise and shine”. Not technically an Australian photographer yet still one of my favorites. I love Milos’ clean cut style with a touch of nautiness.

Check the whole shoot at Iam, thanks to GWKE for the heads up.

More Russh and I haven’t yet received my subscription copy. This with a little more as straight from the source.. Photographer Cameron Smith’s blog. Styled by Constanze Lyndsay Han this is a portrait editorial shot at Venice Beach of singing model Tenley.

I love this style of shooting like its just a day. Not over stylized, just beautiful pictures worthy of a forever photo album. Check out Cameron’s blog for more…..

the endless garment.

The new craft of machine knitting. As part of the LMFF I generally find the exhibitions more to my liking than the parades. The parades in Melbourne show current stock, clothes readily available in the stores yet the exhibitions have a more International feel. I went with my friend Lynnette to my old university gallery RMIT to see breathtaking knitwear which was originally what I studied years ago. Issey Miyake, Sandra Backlund, Walter Van Beirendonck, Mark Fast and Sibling to name a few that were on display. Knitwear is still a favorite and after viewing the piecesI went down memory lane wishing I had done an exchange to Milan when I had the chance. Ahh retrospect.
