The new craft of machine knitting. As part of the LMFF I generally find the exhibitions more to my liking than the parades. The parades in Melbourne show current stock, clothes readily available in the stores yet the exhibitions have a more International feel. I went with my friend Lynnette to my old university gallery RMIT to see breathtaking knitwear which was originally what I studied years ago. Issey Miyake, Sandra Backlund, Walter Van Beirendonck, Mark Fast and Sibling to name a few that were on display. Knitwear is still a favorite and after viewing the piecesI went down memory lane wishing I had done an exchange to Milan when I had the chance. Ahh retrospect.
