I have no idea why model polaroids when they are dressed in casual clothes, barely made up with a scruffy ponytail are always so appealing. I was once a stylist choosing from a selection of beautiful clothes, textured fabrics and coming up with fanciful themes so it seems wrong to like these shots. mars borealis……

And my christmas shopping list begins…. Estelle Deve of One Perfect Morning has expanded her amazing jewellery range and the 3rd Mars Borealis is her finest. I love the earthy grainy impressions and feel of one off pieces of  the rings. It reminds me of being young and placing coins on train tracks to flatten them. For some reason this brought the excitement of being bad to the bone.

Excerpt from interview @ Melbourne Street Fashion:

What sparked your attraction to jewellery design? My dad and aunt used to have a jewellery label in the 90s. I have vague memories of playing around in their studio and making my own custom made bracelets to show off at primary school. Growing up, I thought my aunt had the coolest job in the world. She would draw all day and get all these jewellery samples and travel.

Fernando Frisoni’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection WOMAN styled by Mark Vassallo and shot by Adrian Mesko is stunning. The blonde bombshell model a young Daryl Hannah re-incarnate.

I always wonder why designers hire a stylist for their lookbooks, or catwalks…. this is solid proof as to money well spent.

2010 Girlfriend Rimmel Model Search Winner was South Australian Jemma Baines. 16 and a smile with braces. Big News as huge talents to have been finalists and winners include Alyssa Sutherland, Catherine McNeil, Pania Rose, Samantha Harris, Abbey-Lee Kershaw and Sarah Stephens. Not a bad prize either….a two-year contract with Chic Model Management, a trip to New York to meet up with NEXT Model Management agency, a Rimmel London and Girlfriend prize pack as well as an editorial in Girlfriend.

Something Else Summer 2011. Casual cool.

I used to avoid printed tees but am now embracing them all over again. I still have a Sample tee (Something Else designer Natalie Woods label that she did with UK Harpers Bazaar Senior Fashion Editor Vanessa Coyle.) So the Sample tee with a pink sequinned sleeve has stood the test of time… maybe 10 years!

Yesterday I was posting letters and whilst waiting I glanced at the magazine stand and amongst all of the glossies and bright and poppy International covers one magazine stood alone. Fallen Issue 6. Crisp white background. Tallulah Morton casting a crouched stance, and once flicking through.. an article on the extremely talented Tina Kalivas. Another Melbourne based magazine coming along leaps and bounds.
