Another girl signed to Pricillas starring this season is Christina Carey. Miss Carey bounced onto the scene in 2007 with her iconic Shiseido face she shot with Tim Walker early last year and has has quiet steady work but getting booked in the all star model cast for Marc Jacobs is her ticket back to the top.

Marc Jacobs, Chado Ralph Rucci and Michael Angel shows in New York and more recently Antonio Berardi in London. The Melbourne girl has stunning European looks so it will be great to see her shine in Milan and Paris.

The one stop shop for 50’s pin-up lingerie. All items are made with pure love. Made to measure and each piece is made by hand. My top of the want list is the Meadow Georgette and Silk Camisole and navy and white silk high waisted knickers. Beautiful.

cold

I admit it. I am fickle. I check certain blogs…not many, daily, many weekly and those who don’t post at least once every 2 days I seem to lose interest in very quickly. Then there are some blogs like cold.am by Photographer Darren McDonald that I check regularly even though he posts very randomly because his choice of models and photos are just that good. He tends to capture many young Australian models years before they hit the big time.

am

Here he captures Georgia Fowler’s sweet innocence and shows her intense variety… right now, she alongside Alexandra Spencer represents the new Myer collections as well as pouting in the latest Oyster. Georgia is with Pricillas and has that naughty prettiness, angry yet commercial and one of my new favorites.

tie dye tassles and some misty glass

susie

Big lights will inspire you. As the song goes. Only a few self portrait poses on stylebubble at New York Fashion Week and already Susie is representing 3 of my favourite Australian labels…Tina Kalivas in a tie dye dress from her 2009 Fortune range, an Estelle Deve Somni necklace, and a Michelle Jank acrylic headband. Probably rating number one in the world at best mixed up layering and a walking canvas for world wide young designers… she should hire a team to start an online store under her coloured rule of thumb.

malaya jewels…

sophie

One of my best friends and a very talented jewellery maker lives on the other side of the world. If the sliding doors were on my side I would now be at Sophie’s house planning outfits for London and Paris fashion week like we did last September. Now I am planning a beach weekend and she is working hard at her ever growing vintage jewellery line Malaya. Back in the day when her be-jewelled career was just starting she worked alongside the beautiful stylist Charlotte Stockdale, and recently she got to collaborate on the Etam fashion show held at Hotel Ritz in Paris back in January during Couture Fashion Week, for the presentation of the new Natalia Vodianova collection. A hot pic of Abbey Lee in red lace wearing your jewellery is just one image in her amazing folio.

mal

Check out her one off pieces because not only are they beautiful but you will be the only one in the world to have one! Wish I was having a Turkish, hiding from the rain and planning our Eurostar trip right now….Miss you Much!

rise from the living dead………..

1

The resurgance of the magazine we all thought was dead… therefore we as a nation believed we were all doomed. From the grave the new team has stuck up their middle finger with this editorial. Teddy Girls shot by Liz Ham, Styled by Jolyon Mason, Hair by Sophie Roberts and Make Up by Sasha Nilsson.

2

Frockwriter previewed the Cassi with the Coke can shot but alongside in the shoot above is Annamarije @ Chic, Rosemary @ Viviens  and Georgia @ Pricillas.

3

Joining the mega new faces in this 50’s barn yard is Holly and Ali both @ Chic. Six in total. Not a bad start on the comeback trail.

4

A taste of French Vogue with less layers. I love the Mormon country-girl live on the compound have sister-wives hair does. It’s hard to work a bun in an editorial and usually I would hate it but I love it here.

5

Even some rebellious smoking makes the cut. For some reason I thought it was illegal by Australian standards but I think this is a rule with strict boundries mainly for film and television. Girl version of The Outsiders, reminds me it’s time to watch Pony Boy and Soda-Pop again.

This is just a taste of what’s in the latest Oyster…..

new frankie

frankie

Mariana on the cover of March/April Frankie shot by Carine Trevenau. I love an androgynous model on a cover, especially when they are …in theory make up free. I am forever impressed with both Frankie and Yen who constantly promote young lesser known models on the covers. Still they manage to sell copies and promote young Australian talent.

chipping away at the top spot…..

karl

Cover girl of Pop, Australian Vogue, already walking strong in New York and now alongside Karl’s number one boy Baptiste, Abbey Lee could be the Melbourne girl to finally reign in the top spot on models.com. I prefer Karl as a designer rather than his foray into photography, but once in Paris had the lucky chance to watch him work and I have never seen a quicker more determined shoot. 10 couture looks in less than 2 hours. Amazing. A crazy work a holic but in this instance simple and minimal is supreme. Black and white and the best campaign to date under Master Lagerfeld’s tutelage.

friend of mine…..

avril

I recently did a shoot and borrowed some Friend of Mine from the lovely Emilia at Down Yonder. There and then I fell in love with F.O.M. If you live in Melbourne it is a definite hidden haven you should check out….485 Malvern Road South Yarra 3141. This 40’s polka dot dress has my name on it. They also sell Tristian Blair shoes which are sometimes hard to get your hands on.

I loved the summer range but here comes Winter. Avril Alexander is the perfect pinup shot by Photographer Akila Berjaoui in the icy beach scene.

I also love the shape and simplicity of the red dress.
