concrete jungle….

nevenka

I almost know nothing about this label… so I must google…Designer Rosemary Masic started her label Nevenka named after her mother just after she died. Influenced by her Eastern European heritage the label has always been too sophisticated to be in my eyesight, until now once they hired young Cassi for the ‘Concrete Jungle’ Autumn Winter 2010 lookbook.

These are the kind of blue sky snaps that can happen during our Fashion Week. Paris may have the newest stilettoes lightly covered in Tuileries dust, London has a costume fare of dress up box outfits but we have rock pool fun.

Tullalah should keep modeling she is only getting more beautiful, mainly through Cameron Smith’s lense.

the loved ones…..

loved

I can never talk about my work… Well something I worked on two years ago when I first arrived home after living in London was a low budget Australian Horror called The Loved Ones. It was a shock to the system as I had left my costume career behind working in the more civilised 9-5 world of fashion whilst in London to go straight into blood and fear night shoots. Working behind the scenes it’s actually hard to know the outcome, the storyline is on the borderline to be banned, the cast had starring newcomers and until I saw the final cut I had no idea it had comedic value… and then it won the People’s Choice Award at Midnight Madness! The lead Xavier Samuel was then cast in the new Twilight so it doesn’t hit screens til August. I love this still of the very talented Robin McLeavy. Check it out.. rumours insist its got cult status.

we were meant to live….

soma

Alexandra Spencer. One of Australia’s biggest names in blogging thanks to her sexy self portraits on 4th and Bleeker. Not just a pretty pout she also customises and creates short shorts and skinny leathers.

alex

I was once a follower of her blog but found it more for boys. Until this shoot for Soma Magazine I found her a little too commercial, a bit more bleach in her hair and some white eye liner and Miss Alex takes on another dimmension.

spencer

A little Mariel Hemmingway circa 1979 and so much more than straight to camera sex eyes.

What a difference some extra blonde and an eye brow re-shape can make.

I suscribe to Vogue and Russh and yet I am always the last to see the much anticipated covers. Kirstie has gone all Anna with her celbrity cover but I am happy she is staying with Australian talent. I worked with Rose Byrne pre USA super status and she is one of those actresses who is even more beautiful in real life. I just wish Vogue had of gone with the younger, fresher look which instead appears inside the magazine.

greta chesterman….

greta

Standing at 5′11 and a half and walking major shows during RAFW this is just the beginning for Chadwicks girl Greta. I always find it hard to get good images going to the Australian modelling agency sites. Unlike the international sites, they don’t take the time to shoot a few simple polariods so its a matter of searching the whole catalogue before deciding on liking a girl enough to book.

Looking through Greta’s folio I was only blown away once finding this shoot. No details as to where it’s from but her extra long legs look amazing in amongst the Parisian looking surroundings.

a lil bambi obsession….

bambi1

I love it when you get a model obsession… taking it to a new level is a total blog dedication. I would love it if this was her mum who set it up. I once wrote about Hannah Glasby and her mum left a comment. I was so chuffed. I wonder how long it took her to google her daughter then work out how to leave a comment. Rumour has it Miss Bambi is now dating Ksubi boss Dan Single.

hot black….

hot

I finally had a chance to click through the new issue of Academy for Men. I like the concept… a male model agency with an online magazine to show of the talent, but as they introduce the Academy For Women I am all the more intrigued. Hot Black shot by Terence Chin, styled by Olivia Waugh, and Modeled by Heather at Pricillas caught my attention. I want to know if the hot mum is styled or just happens to fit the bill.

The male model shoots remind me of London, grey tones, skinny interesting faces and a slight look of desperation which I love. The ladies look more like a shoot from maybe the US based Nylon. Makes the reader keep clicking!
